Living a holistic lifestyle is not a recent choice for me—it is the way I was raised. Long before natural health became mainstream, I was taking vitamins and supplements as a child in the 1970s and learning that health is built through daily choices, good food, respect for nature, and caring for the whole person.
Before I became a mother, I chose to do a cleanse and whole-body detox because I wanted to be the healthiest and cleanest vessel possible to bring my daughter into the world. She is now 36 years old and continues to live a holistic lifestyle herself. Watching those values carry through generations has been one of the greatest affirmations of the life I have chosen.
I also grew up with farming and local food before the word “organic” was coined or given a legal definition. Growing your own food, knowing your farmer, eating seasonally, and caring for the land were simply the way life was lived. Today, I have come full circle. Together with my husband, I grow vegetables using thoughtful, bio dynamic practices, sharing both the harvest and the knowledge I have gained over decades of living close to the earth.
I often joke, though it is not entirely a joke, that if my husband had ever used pesticides or herbicides on this farm, I probably would not have married him. Caring for the earth and respecting natural systems are not simply preferences for me; they are deeply held values that influence the choices I make every day.
I have worked in the holistic health arena for more than 30 years, and when I first came to Ayush Herbs, I was impressed—and honestly a bit surprised—by how quickly many of the products worked. Over time, I believe I have come to understand why.
More than 85% of Ayush Herbs’ ingredients are grown either on our own organic farms in India or through partnerships with other small organic farmers. These relationships not only produce exceptional herbs but also support local communities through meaningful employment and fair wages.
Another aspect of Ayush that I find especially important is how the herbs are imported. We import our herbs as powders rather than whole roots, twigs, or leaves. Because of this, they do not require irradiation to enter the United States. To me, this means the life force is left intact, and I believe that is tremendously important.
My work with Ayush allows me to build meaningful relationships with naturopathic physicians, holistic medical doctors, chiropractors, and other practitioners who share a respect for the healing potential of nature. I see myself as an educator and a resource; someone who shares information, fosters relationships, and helps bridge traditional wisdom with modern holistic care.
One final value that has guided my life for many years is my commitment to supporting local people and local businesses whenever possible. I routinely move heaven and earth to purchase what my family needs from local farms, local businesses, and members of my community. When you place an order through me, you are supporting a real person who is invested in your success and available to answer questions, provide technical support, and help you receive available discounts and special offers.
