If you’re looking for something sweet and restorative to share with your love (or treat yourself), these snacks pack a lot of nutrition into a small package. The herbal powders are the star of the show: these adaptogenic allies can encourage intimacy, sustained energy, and a healthy stress response. If you opt for shatavari, you also get its stomach-soothing benefits.
This recipe is a basic template, which can be adjusted and improvised upon until you find the ingredient ratios that you like best.
1 cup nut or seed butter (almond, sunflower, hemp, cashew, peanut)
½ c. honey (extra nice if it’s local!) or maple syrup
¼ c. herbal powder (shatavari, ashwagandha, or maca)
2 tbl. acacia, flax, or oat fiber powder (optional, but good digestion is sexy!)
2 tbl. raw cacao powder
½ tsp rose or lavender powder (optional, but lovely) Rose petals, sesame seeds or coconut flakes, to roll bites in (optional)
Feel free to change up the spice mix as much as you like: an average of 1-2 tsp, total (of any mix) works well.
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground cardamom
½ tsp. ground ginger Pinch or two of salt Mix powders and spices together in a bowl, then add the wet ingredients.
Mix thoroughly until you get cookie-dough consistency. Pinch off bite size pieces, form into balls, then roll in rose petals, sesame seeds or coconut flakes, if you like. These can be stored in the fridge for up to a week or frozen for up to 3 months.
These nifty little treats are a great ‘opener’ to an intimate encounter or work equally well afterwards, to help replenish your energy. Supporting your love life with herbs can be delicious!
